How does it Work?
The UltraSoft^TM facial implant is made of a soft, pliable synthetic material called ePTFE. This material can be implanted below the surface of the skin through small incisions. The procedure is a simple outpatient procedure and generally takes less than one half hour to complete. This material has been safely implanted for the last 20-25 years in more than 3.5 million people in a wide range of medical and surgical procedures such as cardiac and vascular surgery, and even hernia repair. With a unique hollow tube design, your body’s own tissue holds the implant in place while promoting the growth of your own tissue into and around the implanted tube.

What to Expect:
Since each person’s experience with the UltraSoft^TM facial implant procedure may differ, it is important to talk with your doctor about what you can expect following the treatment:

1.		Immediately following implantation: results are instantly visible. Swelling, bruising,or some discomfort may occur. Some patients may experience a sensation of tightness at the implantation site.
2.		Up to 1 week following treatment: most swelling and bruising should disappear. Many people will not be able to tell that a procedure has been done. Although you may always be able to feel the implant under your skin, softening of the implant site takes place over time.
3.		In 3-4 months following treatment: healing is complete. Continued softening of the implant is expected.
