The Aluma system with FACES™ technology works by creating a controlled volume of heated tissue in the dermis.The Aluma handpiece uses vacuum to fold the skin, ensuring tight contact while positioning the dermis in direct alignment with the path of the RF energy. The combination of this vacuum positioning and RF concentrated heat deep within the dermis leads to collagen contraction and regeneration. Collagen is heated above 60º C, denatures, and the collagen fibrils contract and thicken. In the months following the treatments, the body's natural wound-healing processes result in the regeneration of new collagen and dermal remodeling. As new, "younger" structured collagen is laid down, the skin looks tighter, firmer and more youthful. The results are predictable, virtually painless and all without any down time.
